Our Company
ABACUS Keys 4 Locks 24/7 Locksmiths evolved out of more than 18 years of Property Maintenance self–employment. Doors, windows, locks, hinges, carpentry, glazing, repairs and renovations all played a part of this work, but the locks themselves held a fascination!
In 2004 the decision was taken to undergo specialised Locksmith training to increase the self–taught knowledge previously gained.
It is unfortunately the case that there are no nationally recognised qualifications for the Locksmith Industry.
It was felt that there was more to learn whilst working under guidance, so Brian our Locksmith sub–contracted to a large Locksmiths Company.
This resulted in practice as an apprenticeship period which lasted some 2 years. It provided quite an insight into the Locksmith Industry!
The decision was made to stop sub–contracting, as we were unhappy with the immoral ways in which we found these large companies operated. Think “Rogue Traders” with Locksmiths pressured to charge Customers astronomical fees and you get the picture! Brian was not prepared to treat customers in this way.
We have since decided to grow our Locksmith Company, albeit at a slower pace, focusing on truth and value for money to our Customers. We operate on “Traditional Values” with Honesty, Integrity, Professionalism, and Reliability being the foundations of what we are building.
ABACUS Keys 4 Locks is unique in being able to pride ourselves on the depth and variety of genuine skills that Brian`s years of experience can provide.
These can be drawn upon and utilised to solve a Client`s various problems using one phone call, to one very competent craftsman! Genuine carpentry and glazing skills are rare in Locksmiths – but often essential following a break–in or malicious destruction.
These additional elements brought to the job, reduce the potential risk of further damage to a Client`s property.
We are therefore able to provide a high quality finish and high degree of Customer satisfaction. As a result our Client`s receive considerable additional value for their money!
We find it horrific that the Locksmith Industry is the only sector of the Security Industry totally unregulated! In order to give our Client`s the reassurance we feel should be Statutory, we insist on having Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Clearance. Whilst some Locksmiths may have a cursory “Police Check” we consider this does not go far enough.
We deal with many potentially vulnerable members of our Society. It is also another way in which our Client`s can reduce their risk by using our Locksmith services.
We consider the ECRB clearance held another indicator of our high standards.
ABACUS Keys 4 Locks is a genuinely Family run Company. The husband does the locks and the wife deals with the paper work and accounts. Their differing areas of strength, experience and expertise complement each other well in this enterprise.
